SLHS Guidance
Sunlake High School’s Guidance department offers a range of services to assist our students in meeting their academic, social and emotional needs. Each counselor moderates his or her own blog with a specific focus.
Students are assigned to guidance counselors by grade level. Please contact Brenda Hill, Guidance Secretary at 813.346.1035 for questions or to schedule an appointment. Guidance hours are 7AM - 3PM.
Counselors’ Corner – every Wednesday!
Have a quick question for your counselor but don’t have time to get to Guidance to set an appointment? Then look for counselors in the Cafeteria every Wednesday during all three lunches. We’ll be happy to answer your questions on the spot!

Mrs. Shelley Richter: 10th grade; Health & Human Services Learning Community. Mrs. Richter moderates our Academic Advisement blog, which includes information about credit recovery, Florida Virtual School, Pasco eSchool, adult education, summer school and more.
Ms. Jan Hartman: 11th grade; Fine Arts Learning Community. Ms. Hartman moderates our Testing blog, which included information about FCAT, PSAT, PLAN, SAT, ACT and more.
Mrs. Helen Browning: 12th grade; Business, Finance & Marketing Learning Community. Mrs. Browning moderates our Guidance 411 blog – a timeline of important events and deadlines for a variety of topics, such as registration, classroom guidance presentations, exam dates, report cards and progress reports and more.
Mr. Christopher Dillinger: 9th grade; Science, Engineering & Technology Learning Community. Mr. Dillinger moderates our Community Service blog, which contains a variety of volunteer opportunities for your student, as well as required forms for documentation of community service hours.
Mrs. Becky Black: Career Specialist - Mrs. Black provides career and college exploration and advisement to all students. She also provides SAT and ACT prep materials and scholarship information. Check out the latest on the Virtual Career Resource Center Blog.
