Sunlake High School is establishing a Civil Air Patrol – US Air Force Auxiliary Squadron. The Civil Air Patrol unit meetings will be available this month. Many of you know that Sunlake High School has sought (unsuccessfully) for years to establish a JROTC program. The Civil Air Patrol is not a JROTC unit, but it does provide the opportunities for students to grow, learn, and develop the leadership and STEM skills that will help them well beyond high school. Attached is an information guide giving more detail about the Civil Air Patrol.
We are providing a Zoom meeting for students interested in Civil Air Patrol. They will be able to meet and greet the Squadron Staff and ask any questions you or your parents may have. Student, Parents, as well as faculty and administration are invited to attend. The first three Civil Air Patrol meetings will be held via ZOOM due to the virus. After, the meetings will be in the Sunlake High School Aviation classroom. The meetings for the first group of cadets will be held on April 22nd, April 29th and May 6th from 7pm to 8pm via Zoom invitation. Any Seahawk who is interested in information or joining the Squadron may email Mr. Aragon in order to be invited to the first meetings. Once cadets have completed all three meetings, they will be eligible for full membership and a $100 uniform voucher. Mr. Aragon has begun to acquire uniforms, and the first to join will have the first opportunity to get their uniform issued. Please reach out to Mr. Aragon (email@example.com) or Phone 813-485-6333 if you have any question.
