Interested in taking the PERT? Sunlake will be offering an on-campus PERT test on January 26 after school. If you’d like to register for the test, make sure to complete the online registration form when it opens this Thursday, January 12, at 2:00 p.m. You can access the form by scanning the QR code or clicking the link at the bottom of this announcement.

The Postsecondary Educational Readiness Test (PERT) assesses a student’s level of preparedness for Dual Enrollment, college-level coursework. All three sections of the test (Reading, Writing, and Mathematics) must be taken to provide a score report and guide student placement into Dual Enrollment courses. To be eligible for Dual Enrollment, students must have at least a 3.0 unweighted GPA as well as the following minimum passing scores on the PERT:

  • Reading: 106
  • Writing: 103
  • Mathematics: 114 (for Intermediate Algebra) OR 123 (for additional college-level math courses)

Students are NOT required to pass each section of the PERT in order to take Dual Enrollment – For instance, if they pass the Reading and Writing sections of the test but do not pass the Mathematics section, they would still be eligible to enroll in ENC 1101 and ENC 1102.

Please note: Students who do not meet GPA requirements will not be offered a seat for the PERT. More information on the test, including study guides and general information, can be found by visiting https://testing.phsc.edu/exam/common/pert.

Please note: Registration fills up quickly and the 50 spaces for the test are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. You will need to complete the online registration to secure your space for the test as we are unable to accommodate walk-ups. In order to sit for the test, you must have a 3.0 unweighted GPA – If you do not meet GPA requirements, you will be unable to sit for the test and notified accordingly.

If you do not receive a seat for this month’s on-campus PERT test, reach out to your grade-level counselor for more information on how to schedule the test with PHSC.
