Overview of the Academy
This academy is designed as a four-year, rotating wheel program in Arts, A/V Technology, and Communication. Every student entering the program follows the same course sequence, ensuring that all students gain exposure to essential media, digital design, and communication skills. The curriculum progressively builds technical, creative, and journalistic competencies while giving students opportunities for industry certification, portfolio development, and real-world media production experience.
By senior year, students may specialize by joining the Yearbook Production team, which operates as a capstone and production-based course.

This course serves as the official Yearbook Production class. Students enrolled in this course become members of the school’s yearbook staff and take on key roles in the creation, marketing, sales, and distribution of the annual publication. As part of a real production team, students collaborate to develop the yearbook’s theme, design layouts, write and edit copy, capture and curate photography, and manage deadlines throughout the school year.
Enrollment in this course requires an application and a teacher review process. Students may apply after successfully completing at least one of the following prerequisite courses:
