Red Ribbon Week is a drug and violence prevention awareness campaign that takes place in the United States every October. It began in 1985 as a tribute to DEA special agent Enrique Camerena who had died. The DEA says that Red Ribbon Week is the country’s longest-running and largest drug prevention and awareness program.
