Red Ribbon Week is a nationally recognized campaign dedicated to promoting drug, alcohol, and tobacco prevention across schools and communities. Established in memory of DEA Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, who gave his life in the fight against drugs, this week serves as a reminder of the importance of making healthy and responsible choices. Throughout the country, schools participate in activities that encourage students to commit to living drug-free and making positive decisions for their future. Red Ribbon Week also provides an opportunity for educators, families, and communities to work together in supporting youth through education, awareness, and positive role modeling. By joining this movement, students learn that living drug-free not only benefits their health but also strengthens their ability to achieve goals, build strong relationships, and lead fulfilling lives. This year, Pasco County Schools and Sunlake High School are proud to participate in this impactful campaign and invite all students to show their support by joining in the week’s themed dress-up days and activities.
