Goal Statement
All girls are welcome to participate in weightlifting. It is our goal that athletes on the weightlifting team are students first and foremost. It has been the reputation of our weightlifting team to have members who take pride in their class work as well as in the gym. We as coaches, aim to produce a team that is respectful and well respected. We do expect our athletes to take pride in our sport and to show dedication to our sport through their ability to follow instructions, their attendance, and their attitude.
Athletes will get the opportunity to compete and travel within the state of Florida. Our team has competed at Apalachicola near Pensacola, the Suwannee Christmas Invitational, the Leesburg Happy Liftsgiving, and the Disparti Invitational. We look to get in as much competition outside of Pasco County as possible, so we can compete against some of the best athletes in Florida.
Policies and Expectations
RESPECT: Show respect to ALL coaches, trainers, and other athletes.
Attendance at practice and meets is mandatory!!
– Our expectation is that athletes communicate with us as to their absences. (Work, having to go home and watch your sibling(s), doing chores, etc. are not acceptable excuses from practice or meets). If you must meet with a teacher or do makeup work after school, you need to communicate it with the me, do the work, and then come directly to practice afterwards!
IN ORDER TO COMPETE
- Athletes must have an overall 2.0 GPA to practice and compete with the team
- Athletes must also complete the High School Athletic Participation Forms and submit it through AthleticClearence.com
